Welcome address

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of SECEC and its Programme Committee, we are delighted to invite you to the 2026 SECEC Congress, which will take place in Barcelona from September 2nd to 4th, 2026.

An unmissable event in the worldwide shoulder and elbow calendar, the SECEC Congress brings together specialists from around the world who share a common commitment to advancing our field. This meeting represents an invaluable opportunity to exchange knowledge, explore cutting-edge research, and strengthen professional networks within our global community.

This year, we will be particularly pleased to welcome delegates from all continents, with a special mention to our colleagues from South and Latin America, with whom we share long-standing scientific ties.

The scientific programme we are preparing will offer a rich, stimulating, and diverse experience. Delegates will benefit from focused sessions spanning the full spectrum of shoulder and elbow management—including surgery, rehabilitation, and conservative treatments—alongside keynote lectures delivered by world-renowned experts. Dynamic debates on current controversies, carefully selected Instructional Course Lectures, innovative free papers, video presentations, and ePosters will all contribute to a highly engaging and thought-provoking congress.

Like no other meeting in our field, the SECEC Congress is a unique forum for open controversy, candid experience-sharing, and genuine scientific exchange—an inclusive, stimulating, challenging, and fully independent environment where real cases, real problems, and real research are presented and discussed.

Social events remain an essential part of the SECEC experience. In Barcelona, delegates will enjoy several opportunities to connect in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere—including a special night out for our junior members (open to everyone), as well as the famous SECEC Party, a highlight of the congress where our community gathers to celebrate, network, and enjoy time together.

Barcelona provides a truly exceptional setting for this event. In early September, the city enjoys warm, pleasant temperatures, inviting visitors to experience its Mediterranean charm. The congress will be held at the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona (CCIB), a modern and spacious venue located by the sea, offering an ideal environment for scientific exchange and community gathering. With its blend of modernity and history, iconic architecture, vibrant cultural atmosphere, and seaside location, Barcelona is an inspiring place. Easily accessible from major international hubs, the city offers the perfect setting for our annual congress!

We look forward to seeing you soon in Barcelona.

With warm regards
